1-Net’s Alchemy is the First Ubuntu Certified Public Cloud in Southeast Asia

A simplified high performance and secured IaaS platform at a low cost for enterprise users

Singapore, 26 October 2015

1-Net today announced that its public cloud service, Alchemy, has officially joined Canonical to be the Southeast Asia’s first Ubuntu Certified Public Cloud Service Provider. Alchemy is a high performance and secure IaaS platform, which enables users to build and manage scalable infrastructures on demand.

By joining the Ubuntu Certified Public Cloud (CPC) programme, 1-Net’s Alchemy offers developers an affordable, fast and reliable cloud experience on one of the most popular open-source cloud operating systems. Customers will also be updated with the latest and most secure Ubuntu images on a frequent basis, enabling users to build and manage scalable infrastructures on demand, with real time billing and monitoring. As added value to Alchemy users, 1-Net will provide an extra level of comfort with Ubuntu Advantage guest support, bundled with all Ubuntu guest images.

Alchemy’s IaaS environments are built with the view that a high-performing, robust and secure infrastructure is key to deploying a quality product. An intelligent approach is taken in Alchemy’s architectural design and software selection, and does not rely on expensive hardware or complex, branded software. This allows savings to be passed onto customers, who will enjoy the best of both worlds – a reliable cloud computing platform at a low cost.

“We understand that many enterprises are looking for cost-efficient and effective cloud solutions as well as data center services. The next wave of cloud development will be centered along the line of “open base” architecture, driven by a cloud centric instead of a virtualization centric approach. We believe that OpenStack is the key to the next wave that will benefit end-users in the longer term.” said Mr. Wong Ka Vin, Managing Director of 1-Net Singapore.

1-Net’s Alchemy and Canonical brings customers:

  • Support for multiple hypervisors and VM images, including Hyper-V, VMware, KVM, Oracle Xen etc;
  • End-user support from Canonical to ensure customers get the most out of their Ubuntu VMs;
  • The ability to connect to public cloud, private cloud, and dedicated hardware to create the best fit for your specific needs.
